Associate Veterinarian

Heal is an independently owned, progressive, small animal clinic located minutes away from downtown Boston Massachusetts. We are a six doctor practice looking to expand our amazing team.

Why Heal?

We are lucky that Massachusetts has many high quality practices, but here are some qualities that make us unique.

  • We value our staff and listen to their concerns. We know that we excel when we work as a team. We take all staff concerns and suggestions seriously and work together to solve problems. We have an extremely high retention rate with a mature and highly trained support staff.

  • We love our clients and make sure we have time to communicate with them. We schedule longer appointment times to better serve our patients. We limit the number of overall clients at the practice to ensure a high staff to patient ratio. We staff and prioritize our front desk staff to ensure that clients are always able to reach a live person on the phone and emails are promptly addressed.  While we feel we are very lucky, we also know that this is one reason we largely have kind and understanding clients.

  • We truly believe in and authentically practice low stress handling. Every staff member is a graduate of Sophia Yin’s Low Stress Handling University. Our recently designed facility has ample natural light and an open concept. Every exam room is designed as a small living room and adequately stocked with large array of high value treats and toys.

  • We are veterinary owned and operated. The owners are eternally present, engaged and constantly working to exceed the expectations of the staff and clients.

  • We love to learn. We are extremely collaborative in our approach. We are dedicated to weekly doctor meetings and bi-weekly staff meetings to keep us current on innovations at the practice, continuing education and problem solving.

  • We are dedicated to our community. We are committed to working with local shelters, rescues, animal controls, and even local wildlife rehabilitation facilities. This ensures a unique and interesting case load (medical and surgical) with ample opportunity to explore new interests.

  • We practice the highest quality medicine but we always treat our patients as individuals. Our philosophy is based on meeting our clients’ individual needs and providing options to achieve optimal care

Our Clinic

The clinic is equipped with all of the fun and necessary tools to make our jobs easier including ultrasound, therapeutic laser, in-house labs, digital radiography, dental radiography, cautery, suction, surgical monitoring including capnography, Doppler, tonopen, etc. We are open six days per week and recently altered our hours to better provide a work/life balance. We have several specialty hospitals nearby who support us on complicated cases and handle our after-hours emergencies.  Our team includes a visiting cardiologist and internists that join us as needed.

Our Location

The Boston area is great place to live - full of cultural, academic, and outdoors opportunities.  Compensation and benefits include health insurance, 401K, paid time off, profit sharing, pet care allowance, CE and training…and there is parking, as well as easy access to public transportation (which we promote by subsidizing passes).  Our management practices clear communication and fair labor policies for all the team including our support staff, who are our greatest asset.
